Understanding learning progressions
Duration: Approx. 60 min
Educators' primary objective and responsibility in an early childhood setting are to observe children’s learning progress so that learning opportunities can be provided to strengthen and advance their learning through intentional teaching practices. To do this, the educator needs to understand children’s capabilities and have an awareness of what might be expected next to support ongoing learning.

This enables educators to optimise the support they provide for learners to reach their full potential.

This webinar will:
  • Explore how to identify learning progressions.
  • Examine the interface between learning progressions and educator responses.
  • Discuss how using learning progressions might be used within existing forms of formative assessment.
