Introduction to intentional teaching
Duration: Approx. 50 min
Current early childhood literature and guiding documents strongly focus on educator intentionality. It is widely acknowledged that educators are an essential resource in the ECE setting, their primary responsibility being to facilitate learning through thoughtful and intentional pedagogy.

A sound understanding of intentional teaching is particularly relevant when ways of working are underpinned by a sociocultural theory, which emphasises the importance of relationships between learners and educators.

This webinar will;

  • Define intentional teaching.
  • Situate intentional teaching in current theory and understanding of teaching and learning.
  • Reignite purposeful, intentional teacher engagement and actions which assist in identifying and practicing strategies that support the priorities of young children’s learning
